25FWコレクションにて、私たちは日本を代表するジーンズブランド「EDWIN」とのコラボレーションアイテムを製作しました。瞬く間にrefomedのアイコン的シルエットとなった「FRESH MAN DENIM WIDE PANTS」をベースに、EDWINを象徴するディテールを可能な限り踏襲。職人たちの間で語り継がれてきた「超超ワイド」という背景にEDWINのエッセンスを落とし込み、refomedらしい解釈で再構築しました。
For the Fall/Winter 2025 season, we collaborated with EDWIN, one of Japan’s most iconic denim brands, to create a special collection of garments. Built upon the FRESH MAN DENIM WIDE PANTS, a silhouette that has quickly become one of refomed’s signature pieces, the collaboration incorporates as many of EDWIN’s defining details as possible. By introducing EDWIN’s heritage and craftsmanship into the cultural backdrop of the “Cho-Cho Wide” silhouette—a style long associated with generations of Japanese craftsmen and workers—we reinterpreted the design through refomed’s own lens. The result is a piece that brings together the identities of both brands, combining EDWIN’s longstanding denim expertise with refomed’s distinctive perspective on workwear and contemporary form.

より「本物のジーンズ」にするために生地・縫製・加工・細部のパーツに至るまで、すべてEDWINのディテールを取り入れています。カイハラ社製の13ozデニムをはじめ、ボタン、ピスネーム、スレキ（ヘリンボーン生地）、縫製糸やステッチ、そして加工に至るすべてが、EDWINの技術と美意識によって構成されています。
受け継がれてきた背景と、現代の感性が交わる一本。日本のジーンズ文化が培ってきた技術と、refomedの解釈による再構築が融合したデニムパンツが仕上がりました。
To create a pair of jeans that feels genuinely authentic, every aspect of the garment—from the fabric and construction to the finishing processes and smallest components—draws directly from EDWIN’s expertise and signature details.
The jeans are crafted using 13oz denim produced by Kaihara, alongside EDWIN’s carefully considered specifications, including the buttons, woven tab, herringbone pocketing fabric, sewing threads, stitchwork, and finishing treatments. Every element has been shaped through EDWIN’s technical knowledge and longstanding commitment to denim craftsmanship.
The result is a pair of jeans where inherited tradition meets a contemporary perspective. By bringing together the technical heritage of Japanese denim culture and refomed’s distinctive approach to reinterpretation, the collaboration offers a new expression of what Japanese denim can be today.

EDWINの原点は、1947年に遡ります。当時の「常見米八商店」は米軍払い下げの衣料を扱う商店としてスタートし、アメ横にて中古ジーンズの販売を始めました。やがてアメリカから輸入したジーンズを補修・洗浄し、日本人の体型や生活に合う形でジーンズを提供するようになります。「もっと日本人に合ったジーンズを自分たちの手でつくりたい」そんな想いから始まったのが、ジーンズメーカーとしてのEDWINです。
The origins of EDWIN date back to 1947. The company began as Tsunemi Beihachi Shoten, a small retailer specializing in surplus military garments. Operating in Tokyo’s Ameyoko district, the business initially focused on selling second-hand American jeans.
Over time, the company began repairing, cleaning, and refining imported denim, adapting these garments to better suit the lifestyles and body types of Japanese consumers. Through this process came a simple but ambitious idea: to create jeans that were not only inspired by American denim culture, but designed specifically for the people who would wear them in Japan.
From that aspiration—to make better-fitting, more relevant jeans with their own hands—EDWIN was born as a denim manufacturer.
-職人の手で仕上げるジーンズ-
今回採用したのは、カイハラ社製の13ozデニム。しっかりとした肉感がありながら、穿き込むことで柔らかくなり、風合いと立体感が深まっていきます。経糸には2種類のムラ糸をランダムに配列。粗野な表情と自然な凹凸が混在し、時間をかけて付き合うことでしか出会えない質感が育っていきます。洗い込むごとに、シボ感やあたり感が浮かび上がり、唯一無二の表情へと変化していくのもこの生地ならではの魅力です。
縫製は、青森・みちのくジーンズの十和田工場。メンズの5ポケットジーンズに特化した縫製工場で、独自開発・カスタマイズされた様々なミシンや自動機と、スタッフの熟達した縫製技術によって生産を行っています。熟練工による縫製は、見た目以上に安定した着用感や、一針一針の積み重ねが長く穿ける強度と安心感につながっています。
-Crafted by Skilled Hands-
For this collaboration, we selected a 13oz denim developed by Kaihara, one of Japan’s most respected denim mills. While substantial in weight and structure, the fabric gradually softens with wear, allowing its texture, depth, and dimensional character to evolve over time.
The warp yarns are composed of two different irregular yarns arranged in a random sequence, creating a surface that combines ruggedness with subtle natural variation. It is a fabric whose character can only be fully appreciated through years of wear. With each wash and every stage of aging, its grain, fading, and wear patterns emerge more distinctly, developing into a truly unique expression.
Production takes place at Michinoku Jeans’ Towada Factory in Aomori, a sewing facility specializing exclusively in men's five-pocket jeans. Equipped with a range of proprietary and custom-modified sewing machines, as well as automated equipment developed specifically for denim production, the factory combines advanced manufacturing techniques with the expertise of highly skilled craftspeople.
The value of this craftsmanship extends beyond appearance alone. The precision of each stitch contributes to a balanced and comfortable fit, while the accumulation of careful construction results in the durability and reliability required for years of wear.
仕上げの加工は、秋田・ジーンズM.C.Dにて行っております。長年、EDWINの加工専門工場として高品質なユーズド加工やエイジングを支えてきた現場です。今回の別注では、こうした最新技術と職人の手作業によるリアルな汚しやエイジング加工を丁寧に施しました。細部に宿る“手のあと”が残された一本です。
The finishing process is carried out at Jeans M.C.D. in Akita, a facility that has long specialized in denim finishing for EDWIN, producing high-quality vintage washes and aging treatments. For this collaboration, the jeans are carefully finished through a combination of advanced techniques and skilled handwork. Realistic staining, wear, and aging effects are meticulously applied by experienced craftspeople, creating a finish rich in character and authenticity. The result is a pair of jeans that retains the subtle traces of human hands in every detail.
